TEXTILE RECYCLING

Donate. Recycle. Don’t Throw Away!

According the the EPA, textile recycling has a major impact on reducing greenhouse gasses. Yet…clothing is not typically viewed as a recyclable item. While roughly two million tons of textile products are recycled each year, there’s still a long, long way to go!

The New Haven Solid Waste & Recycling Authority is excited to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Bay State Textiles to remove unwanted textiles from the New Haven waste stream.

Textiles should not go in your curbside bin, but instead, are recyclable at the Residential Drop-off at the New Haven Transfer Station. Please be sure all items are reasonably clean, dry, mold and mildew free, and bagged. (30 gallon plastic garbage bags are acceptable)

As an added benefit, the NHSWRA will be offering rebate opportunities to the City for each ton of textiles recycled.

We accept worn, torn or stained items
